ALPHARETTA, Ga.—Each year, students from Georgia Baptist churches are recognized for their academic excellence and commitment to the mission of Christ through the Georgia Baptist Student Achievement Award. Honorees are selected for outstanding achievement in both the classroom and their spiritual leadership.
Nominations are open to high school students preparing to enter one of three Georgia Baptist–affiliated universities as freshmen: Brewton-Parker Christian University, Shorter University, or Truett McConnell University. Award recipients will receive $1,000 per year towards tuition while continuing their education at these institutions.
“The Student Achievement Award is a practical way for Georgia Baptist churches to encourage students in their local church who demonstrate academic excellence and missional involvement,” said Andy Childs, assistant executive director of the Georgia Baptist Mission Board. “The nomination process intentionally begins with pastors and ministry leaders who best know these outstanding students who are considering attending one of our exceptional Georgia Baptist universities.”
How to nominate: Pastors and ministry leaders may nominate students by completing this online form. To request additional information on the nomination process, please email scholarships@gabaptist.org, or contact Mitzi Fountain at (770) 936-5244.
